Rigging Analysis to Replace a Failed Transformer, NYC
Peak Engineering, PLLC provided the structural analysis and supporting documentation to remove and replace a transformer from a NYC Substation. The transformer was slid out at an elevation 50 feet above the ground using a Jack and Slide system supported by a 1000 ton gantry.
Peak Engineering analyzed the floor loadings in the power house, the Jack and Slide system, the gantry system, the sidewalks, and pavement.
Detailed drawings were prepared for the Engineering Department at Con Ed to review. During the removal of the old transformer and the replacement of the new one, Peak Engineering had an engineer on site to ensure the procedures of the analysis were followed.
